What Abs can do for You!
I will start this blog by starting with some posts about what abs can do for you. Abs look great but that's not all that there good for. They do have a purpose and I am going to tell you what they are.
Abs can Limit your aches and pains:
This one was a big one for me, when my doctor told me that the pain in my back and the aches that made me toss and turn all night was from my extra belly fat. I know right away it was time to get rid of it. It's common as you age to experience joint pains in your knees, ankles, feet, back, and neck. Did you know that all that extra belly weight could be the cause for it, well you know now. If your a sports player then this really applies to you. When your playing sports your abdominal muscles are suppose to help stabilize our body during movements. Such as changing directions, jumping, kick, and so on. If you have weak abdominal muscles, your joints absorb all the force from those movements. It's kind of like a trampoline, when you jump on it toward the center the mat will absorb your weight and bounce you back into the air. Start jumping on the sides of the trimpoline, somewhere the mat meets the frame you might bust the Springs.
You need to think of your body as that trampoline, with your abs at the center of the mat and your joints as the supports that hold the mat to the frame.
If your abs are strong enough they can absorb the shock, but if they aren't, when you get older you might have a harder time walking around than you think. If you abs can't absorb that shock then the force puts way to much pressure on your joints than they were built to withstand.
There is also a study that found that 70% of people with carpel tunnel syndrome were either overweight or obese. This is a great reason to start eating right and sculpting those abs.
